BIG BEN GETS BIG MONEY

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisburger signed an 8 year $102 million dollar contract yesterday, making him one of the games highest paid players. At 26 years old this makes Roethlisburger part of the $100 million dollar quarterback club along with such pros as Carson Palmer, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. I have so much respect for this guy especially being a steelers fan, hes not selling out his fans, he loves the game and his home town, therefore why not stay with the team for as long as possible. Ben said at a press conference that hes all about "getting more trophies" and that the team has been very good with drafting. He hopes the team will be able to bring guys in that will do more, recently Roethlisburger spoke about how he feels the need to have a tall wide reciever. The comment did not sit to well with his teammate Heinz Ward, who is 5"11 although Since 2002 is tied for second in the league in percentage of touchdowns in the red zone. Looking for more opportunities in the red zone well see if the steelers will give Big Ben a Randy Moss or a Reggie Wayne for next season, when the draft takes place April 26th at Radio City Music Hall.

That's one thing you gotta love about the QB position; big time guys staying with their teams. ALthough I'm not a Pitt fan, Ben is a perfect fit for that town. His blue-collar work ethic and proven ability to get big wins makes him worth all the money he's getting. (Not to mention his extensive collection/habit of taking pics with wasted college co-eds.)

I like Ben as a player. The Steelers made the right move, but letting go Alan Faneca was part of this, too.

1. eight-year, $102 million (no dollar)
2. At 26, …
3. Steelers should be capitalized
4. It’s “receiver” … i before e except after c is the rule.
5. Please watch your punctuation. That sentence with Ward is confusing.
6. April 26

If I was a steelers fan, I would be happy to have big-ben back, but that is a ton of money. If he can stay healthy and play at the high level he has been, then he was worth the cash.
